LadyBird (Ladybugs) are one of the prettiest members of the beetle family and considered a sign of good luck. They achieve flight in an unusual way. Some insects can take off in a split second, but a Ladybird takes time to get off the ground. This special beetle has hind wings they can deploy in one tenth of a second and upon landing they are concealed within two seconds. A Ladybird can remain in flight for a period of two hours and reach speeds of 37 MPH. A truly impressive flying feat and the inspiration behind our name.

The Mission Valley area encompasses the southern half of Flathead Lake and a natural valley formed by the 10,000 foot peaks of the Mission Mountains. The Mission Valley also includes the Flathead Indian Reservation, which is home to the Salish, Kootenai and Pend d'Oreille peoples. A few major peaks in the Mission Mountains include: Daughter-of-the-Sun Mountain, Flat-Top, Glacier Peak, Gray Wolf Peak, Kakashe Mountain, McDonald Peak, Mount Calowahcan (formally Mt. Harding), Mountaineer Peak, Sonyelm, and West and East St. Mary's Peaks.
Lakes found in the range include: Ashley Lakes, Cold Lakes, Lake of the Stars, Lost Sheep Lake, Lucifer Lake, McDonald Lake (reservoir), Mud Lakes, Mullman Lakes, Rainbow Lake, Schwarz Lake, Summit Lake, and Terrace Lake, among others.
